About WhoCanIVoteFor
WhoCanIVoteFor is a simple tool which allows UK voters to see lists of candidates in upcoming elections using only their postcode.
All the candidate data used in this site is collected by volunteers from council websites and other sources. If you wish to contribute, please visit Democracy Club Candidates.
Some information displayed on WhoCanIVoteFor is held by Democracy Club separately from our candidates database. This includes 'extra' data and links such as political party contact details and manifestos, parish or town councils, or referendums. If you have questions or comments on any of these subjects, please get in touch using the email address below.

Creators
This site was developed by Democracy Club, specifically Sym Roe, Joe Mitchell, Tim Green, Andy Lulham and David Miller. This site would not be possible without the help of hundreds of contributors to Democracy Club Candidates, and in turn the support of mySociety.
The data on candidates from the UK general election in 2010 is all taken from Edmund von der Burg's YourNextMP.com, with many thanks.
Data and license
You can use the data from this site, via the Democracy Club Candidates API or CSV download, under the terms of the Creative Commons license Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) with the exception of:
-
The party logos, which are taken from the Electoral Commission.
-
Candidate photos, which are typically either submitted by the candidates themselves, or from sources where it seems reasonable that we might use them on this site, such as the party's official page for that candidate, or their social media profile picture.
If the CC-BY-SA licence is problematic for you, but you feel that you have a worthwhile use of the data in mind, please contact us to discuss your situation further.
