Statement to voters
Young people are at the heart of my campaign because they are the key to building a healthier, happier, thriving society.
Full statement
To ease the strain on health and social care, we must focus on preventative measures, starting with substantial investment in maternity, children’s and youth services. Every child deserves the best start in life, empowering them to grow into active, responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities.
As a town and district councillor, I am already dedicated to making Broadstairs a cleaner, safer, kinder place to live, work and visit. I’ve built strong relationships with local schools, established the Broadstairs Youth Forum to amplify young voices, and led initiatives that prioritise community cohesion and inclusion, such as working towards a dementia-friendly town. With over a decade of experience working in schools, I’ve been a passionate advocate for education, championing better pay for teachers and support staff.
As your Kent county councillor, I will build on this work. My key pledges include expanding youth and children’s services, improving SEND provision, making roads safer, enhancing public transport, reducing anti-social behaviour and violence against women and girls (VAWG), and promoting environmental sustainability. I will also push for better funding for health and social care, with a focus on mental health support.
I believe investing in young people and education is the wisest choice we can make. Your vote on May 1 will enable me to make a meaningful difference in our community and start to build a society where everyone thrives.
