Statement to voters
It has been a privilege to meet so many members of our community in recent months and listen to your concerns.
Full statement
We live in a wonderful area, but residents are concerned about things like the state of our roads, flooding risks and safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. As your County Councillor, I would be a strong voice for our communities, working hard to address these issues.
Having moved to England from America as an adult in 1997, I appreciate how fortunate we are to live in this area. I have lived in the Whitchurch area for over 20 years, where I got married, raised my son and worked in the mobile telecoms industry. As chairman of the Whitchurch Parish Council for the past seven years, I have worked effectively with the County Council to secure more than our share of resources for initiatives such as road and pavement resurfacing, parking and traffic improvements, addressing flooding risks and improving pedestrian safety.
As your county councillor, I would stop the waste I see in many of the Lib Dem ideological initiatives and prioritise the issues that matter to residents, starting with fixing our rural roads.
