Full statement

What this means for us here in North Tyneside is that we need to tackle together the three major challenges that impact on our lives right now: The climate emergency; The environmental crisis and Social inequality.

These issues are inextricably linked and I recognise that solving one of them cannot be achieved without solving the others.

I also believe that in order to bring these about an increase in democratic activity and greater transparency in Council decision making is necessary.

Greens have been successful in getting councillors elected in many places and have a good track record of standing up for people and doing politics differently. Green groups in South Tyneside and Darlington have grown over the past 4 years and proven that where Greens are elected, they work hard and are liked.

You've three votes this year, so there is a chance to get elected Greens in North Tyneside for the first time. To challenge the status quo and provide some much needed scrutiny please consider a Green vote.
