Statement to voters

I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to stand as your Labour Party Candidate in the forthcoming by-election.

Full statement

My main priority will be to ensure that the residents of Middleforth continue to have the highest level of representation within SRBC in the same way you have had from Will Adams. I will achieve this, with the support of our other two Middleforth Labour Party Councillors: James Flannery and Keith Martin. With the distinctive and unique experience I can bring, I feel I would be a great addition to your Labour Team in the challenging times we all face.

I have lived in Penwortham for nearly 30 years and I am a very proud resident of our Town and the Borough of South Ribble. Middleforth is a great place to live and the Labour-Controlled South Ribble Borough Council is committed to making it even better. I have worked in 2 large multinational manufacturing companies in the area since I graduated from UCLAN with a BA in Business Management. I absolutely love my 'day' job as a Procurement Professional with over 20 years' experience in contracting, negotiation and delivering value for money solutions. In my spare time, I have been involved in entertainment and the arts nearly all my life, performing regularly in local theatre throughout the North West and even on TV! I hope to be able to promote the arts even further in Middleforth to stimulate well-being, confidence-building and for everyone's overall enjoyment.

I like nothing better than being out enjoying the facilities which Middleforth has to offer; from the excellent hospitality outlets, shops, library and Penwortham Community Centre. I have already met many Middleforth residents when I have participated in fashion shows to support fundraising activities for South Ribble charities and when speaking with residents to support recent election campaigns, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have strong working class roots, an outgoing, friendly and positive personality and excellent organisational skills. As a Councillor, I would want to work in the same way by listening, understanding and being approachable, to get the best outcome for residents' needs. I hope you will give me that opportunity and vote for me on 24th of October.
