My family and I live in Statton, Cirencester, and both my young boys attend Stratton Primary School, and we are very much part of the local and wider community.

I have been part of the NHS almost all of my working life and have committed 34 years of my career caring for patients, servicing the communities that I have worked in and always trying to help improve the way we deliver health care. I am extremely proud to be a Paramedic and have worked for ambulance services across the UK including where I started my career in Belfast. I have and continue to be an active member of a trade union and have always ensured that colleagues who may not feel they have a voice, can have that voice through myself or my union colleagues. Being able to help people who at times can’t help themselves has always been something I have been passionate about, and I hope to be able to continue to do that for many years.
Never more so than now has there been a need for communities to pull together and support each other and I hope to be able to continue to contribute to this. I support the need to get back to basics in terms of how we access our healthcare in a timely way and ensure everyone is helped and supported as quickly as possible, as our health and wellbeing is such an important thing no matter what age. I want to ensure that our community is safe for our children, for the vulnerable and indeed for all of us.
As I have said my drive has always been to help people, whether as a Paramedic, a senior manager addressing health care challenges, a trade union representative or simply a bit of coaching with my son’s rugby team. I see this as another opportunity to help serve the public and hopefully improve services for the local and wider communities.
