Hello, my name is Martin Cullen, and I am honoured to stand as the Labour Party candidate in the upcoming County Council elections.

I have called Leicestershire home since 2002, when I moved here to attend the University of Leicester. For the past five years, I have lived in our wonderful community with my wife, Sarah, and our six-year-old twin daughters, who attend Gilmorton Primary School. Since September 2024, I have proudly served as a parent governor at their school.

Professionally, Sarah and I run a successful events company. Beyond our business, I am deeply involved in our community through various voluntary roles. I serve on the governing board at the University of Leicester and as a Parish Councillor in Gilmorton, where I am dedicated to supporting our residents and enhancing our village.

A lifelong Labour supporter, I have been an active party member since 2019. Recently, I had the privilege of supporting our South Leicestershire candidate, Robert Parkinson, in the 2024 General Election.

Living in and around Lutterworth, I am passionate about our community and spend a lot of time in the town and surrounding villages. I am excited to campaign for the position of your County Councillor, committed to engaging with residents meaningfully and regularly to be a strong voice for Lutterworth on the County Council.

Through my campaigning, I have identified key issues that matter to the people of Lutterworth, including the impact of the proposed Lutterworth East developments, traffic concerns, and residents' parking near the town centre.

If elected, my commitment is clear: I will be accessible year-round, ensuring it is easy to contact me through various methods that suit you. I will also hold monthly pop-up sessions, providing opportunities for you to speak with me in person.

In recent years, our Labour District councillors have delivered on important issues such as green spaces and housing. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the coming months and earning your support.

My goal is to be your County Councillor, a strong voice for Lutterworth, dedicated to improving our community and the lives of its residents.
