Statement to voters
Swindon is my home.
Full statement
I was born here, went to school at what used to be Churchfields and now live in Old Town with my husband, Martin. Having previously served as the Labour MP for Lewisham East and as London's Deputy Mayor for Transport, I want to use my skills and experience to make a difference in my home town. Swindon is crying out for investment and people need real help with the soaring cost of living. We need better quality jobs available locally, a town centre we can be proud of, schools that nurture children's interest in the world around them and an NHS fit for the challenges of the 21st century. It would be an honour to represent my home town in Parliament. If you live in Swindon South and have any questions or if you would just like to say hello, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
