Statement to voters

Natalie is Deputy Leader of Malvern Hills District Council, where she also takes the political lead on Housing and Poverty Alleviation across the entire district.

Full statement

This includes prominent issues such as cost of living, homelessness, domestic violence, refugees and community safety.

Natalie is also County Councillor for the Malvern Trinity Division and has consistently held the administration to account over a number of issues including road works, libraries, public transport and funding for vital support services.

Natalie currently lives in Malvern, before that she lived in Tenbury Wells for 6 years and was instrumental in dealing with major flooding events experienced by the community.

Natalie said “West Worcestershire needs an effective, principled and caring MP. I am standing to be your new MP to change things for the better, to listen to you and be a strong engaged representative for you all in Westminster. I’ve lived in Worcestershire for pretty much all of my life, barring a few years when I was studying at The University of Sussex. I am your neighbour, your customer, your elected councillor. I am proud to have stood alongside you in support of the things we care about, climate crisis, social justice, peace. I have volunteered with you at numerous events, including community meals, fashion shows and festivals. I am with you when you are frustratedly shouting at radio or tv because you are disappointed, infuriated even, by the so called ‘main’ political parties. I am very firmly rooted in West Worcestershire and understand the issues faced by so many of you.

What matters to you matters to me.

My priorities are to: Reduce inequalities – Everyone deserves decent living standards, and a warm, affordable home to live in. My focus will be to bring down the cost of living and narrow the inequality gap.

Protect nature – Like so many of you I care deeply about our natural environment. In Great Britain 16% of species are now threatened with extinction*. I will fight to restore nature and address the climate emergency. ·

Save the NHS – We need more doctors, nurses and dentists so that everyone can get an appointment when they need it. I will act to ensure that the NHS is protected against privatisation, and free at the point of need.

As Deputy Leader of the Council, political lead for housing and health and opposition member at the County Council I have used my opportunities to raise the issues that matter to you well. I want to replicate my achievements to achieve positive change at a national level. I will be a compassionate, practical voice for you in Westminster to bring about the change we all need as well as a much needed injection of hope.

Many of you trust me to represent you at a local level. Why not put that trust in me at a national level? I won’t let you down.” Natalie
