Full statement
Margarets for thirty years and sits on the Parish Council. His twin daughters have grown up so he lives at home with Alison, his wife of 34 years and their 4-year-old blue roan cocker spaniel, Alfie.
Nick was involved in the Hoddesdon incinerator campaign from its inception. He’s a long-standing member of Greenpeace and a life member of the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA).
He is a leading authority on sustainable refrigeration and air conditioning and has provided refrigerant environmental impact assessments to blue chip clients, the UK government and EU. His campaign is based on the following aims of the Green Party: The climate Emergency – act now! The county council must divest its pension fund from climate destroying companies. Reforming Local Democracy – the progressive parties must work together to end the Tory stronghold over our county Saving our Green Belt, parks and open spaces – I will work to minimise and try to reverse green belt losses across the county in particularly north and east of Ware Air Pollution – particularly Ware High Street Social justice – particularly affordable and social housing I joined my local parish council and the Green Party in order to fight the Conservative plans for a municipal incinerator on our doorstep. We won that battle even though the local Green Party was just a small group meeting in the rooms above the White Horse in Hertford once a month.
We are now a professional organisation with councillors at parish, town and district level and we are making a difference.
Hertford & Stortford is one of the places where a Green MP is a genuine possibility. We need a Green MP to speak up for our community and give all of us a future worth having. Your Green vote will make the difference for you, your children and your grandchildren. We need to hold the next government to account on the big issues. Only a Green MP can be trusted to do this. We’re sleepwalking to a climate disaster and our public services are on their knees. I’ll be pushing for action on the environment, tighter regulation of housing and real funding increases to save our NHS and public services. By voting Green, together we can create a fairer, greener country!
