Statement to voters

I'm Alex, your Labour Member of Parliament for Pontypridd and Taff Ely.

Full statement

Since 2019 I've had the privilege of representing the community I was born and bred in and have called home all my life: I was born in Church Village and attended Tonyrefail comprehensive.

Within months of me being elected, our community had to deal with the devastating floods of February 2020, and then of course the pandemic which upended normal life for so many. I'm proud of the response we led to get people the support they needed during both traumatic events.

Our community was built on iron, steel and coal, and while these industries have long gone, I know their legacy is an immense source of pride to many of us. I have always believed in the need to take the fight for our community's fair share to Westminster to make our voice heard.

My job is to serve as the bridge between our community and Westminster \-- so please do get in touch if I can help in any way!
