Laura was elected as the Member of Parliament for Newbury in 2019. From November 2022 to November 2023, Laura was a Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) at the Ministry of Justice. Laura was appointed as the Minister for Victims and Safeguarding in November 2023, working across the Home Office and Ministry of Justice, with a focus on safeguarding, child protection and tackling violence against women and girls.
