Statement to voters

James Bull has lived in Waterbeach nearly all his life.

Full statement

Labour chose him for his experience working in local Government and his commitment to the community:

“I have deep roots in the area. I was brought up here and live here with my wife and daughter. I work for UNISON, the public services trade union - our mission is fairness for public sector workers.”

“My top priorities for the County are integrated, sustainable transport and how we recover locally from the pandemic. The new town at Waterbeach Barracks must offer a choice for walkers, cyclists, bus users and drivers. We need to make it easy to go green. Covid-19 has huge health and economic impact. Tory and Lib Dem cuts won’t drive growth. To recover we need to protect local services such as Children’s Services and Adult Social Care. We need a proper plan and we must invest in our local economy.”

“I spent 14 years working for Cambridge City Council which made me appreciate what a good Councillor can achieve. I learned from the inside how local Government works. I now want to use that experience to make the County Council work for Waterbeach and Milton residents.”
