Full statement
They have four grown-up children.
Wera was first elected to Parliament in 2017. She has been instrumental in tackling violence against women and girls, making upskirting a criminal offence in England and Wales and enshrining the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace into law in 2023.
As the Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Climate Change she is campaigning for a massive national roll-out of home insulation, advocates for 90% of our electricity to be generated from renewables by 2030 and for a roof top solar revolution.
In Bath, Wera has brought a police station back into the city. Social housing is being built in Bath for the first time in decades. HGV’s above 18 tonnes can no longer drive over Cleveland Bridge.
Wera’s voice in Parliament has a national impact.
