Statement to voters

I’m really proud to have been the Member of Parliament for Ilford North since May 2015.

Full statement

I’ve lived in Redbridge for over a decade and care passionately about our community. I’m always out and about meeting as many residents, community groups, charities and businesses as possible to listen to your concerns and priorities.

Prior to my election I served as Deputy Leader of Redbridge Council and Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, leading the fight to save King George A&E and investing in local leisure facilities for people of all ages.

I speak my mind and stand up for Ilford North. You won’t always agree with me (you should never trust politicians who only ever tell you what you want to hear), but you’ll always know where I stand.

I know that there’s lots of cynicism about politics and politicians and I understand why. I hope that I repay the faith that people placed in me when they voted for me over successive elections and I also hope to earn the trust and respect of those who didn’t vote for me.
