Statement to voters

I am Mona Adam, the Green Party parliamentary candidate for Kensington and Bayswater constituency, I have lived in several countries and multi-cultural communities.

Full statement

I was educated in Saudi Arabia where I studied sociology at King Saudi University. I later worked for the British Council, where I was responsible for establishing and running a Women's Centre.

Since moving to the UK, I have worked with several NGOs liaising with different agencies to implement policies and establish a rehabilitation centre that combats human trafficking.

I am standing for:

1. Cost of living crisis: This includes fuel and food poverty. Pensioners, people with disabilities and families on benefit come off the worst. Women are the worst affected in all categories.

2. Housing: Implementing rent control measures and addressing housing inequality to ensure that everyone in our community has a place to call home. Building more council homes, fair rents, landlord register, homes built to decent homes standard including proper insulation and heating to reduce carbon emissions. This for all rental, council, and social housing properties and a new Rent Act to remove no fault evictions and section 21.

3. NHS: Better health services from GP to hospital, money for upgrading and rebuilding our hospitals, more NHS dentists, better mental health services with the Gordon Hospital beds saved, palliative care with the Pembridge beds saved, better and more social care services.

4. Immigration: I understand the importance of compassionate and fair immigration policies. I will work towards creating an inclusive society that welcomes diversity, protects the rights of immigrants, and fosters a sense of belonging.

5. Homelessness: Tackling homelessness is a priority. I will work towards implementing comprehensive solutions, including affordable housing programs, support services for mental health and addiction, and collaborations with local organizations to address the root causes of homelessness.
