David Brittin has lived in Solihull for more than 40 years and he and his wife Margaret have for the past 20 years made their home in Dorridge, where he is an active member of the local community.

After a career in newspaper journalism and public relations, he re-trained as a teacher of literacy. He is a history graduate of the University of Warwick.
If elected he pledges:
To back more affordable housing for first-time buyers who are often forced by a shortage of this kind of property to move from the area where they have grown up. To defend the green belt which helps make Solihull such an attractive place but is under constant threat. To campaign to make Solihull Council a Real Living Wage employer in line with the majority of local authorities in the West Midlands.
