Statement to voters

Like you, I recently received my latest Council Tax bill.

Full statement

Unsurprisingly, it had gone up by just shy of 5%, climbing to over £1,500 a year for a property like mine. Like you, I want our contributions to Lambeth’s finances to provide our area with effective services. In spite of another heavy tax increase, we all know the services on which we all rely will not get better. Instead, under Labour control, Lambeth will continue to deliver poor services. We deserve better.

This by-election is a chance for you to have your say on how Lambeth Labour has run Herne Hill and Loughborough Junction. Talking to people across the ward, there’s a lot to say. Whether you are worried about crime, the fate of local businesses, the condition of your street, how Lambeth has managed your home or the repeated damage to Brockwell Park, you want to send them a message.

Lambeth Labour is not working for Herne Hill and Loughborough Junction. The current Lib Dem and Green opposition on Lambeth Council is not working for Herne Hill and Loughborough Junction. Things will only get worse if the current situation continues. We cannot let that happen.

I’m standing in this by-election because I want things to get better for Herne Hill and Loughborough Junction. I want safer streets, I want local shops to stay open, I want the pavements cleared of weeds and rubbish, I want social tenants not to have to live in mould infested homes and I want to use our parks in the summer. A vote for me as your Conservative candidate is a vote to say you want things to get better, not worse.

Please lend me your vote on 1st May.
