Statement to voters

On November 14th, we can send the Labour/Tory council a message.

Full statement

In recent years, councillors have closed our swimming pools, sat by as our bus services were destroyed, and now they are threatening our community centres.

I was born and brought up in West Lothian and believe that we deserve so much better than this, that is why I am standing to put people and planet first at this election. We need change, but unfortunately, those who have promised that in the past have failed time and again.

If you vote for the Scottish Greens on November 14th, I pledge to fight for: - Improved public transport in Whitburn and Blackburn. - Local action to tackle the climate emergency. - Reform of council tax, ensuring the richest pay their fair share. - A ban on pavement parking on our high streets, making roads safer for all.

Whilst Labour have cut the Winter Fuel Payment, I have campaigned to keep it in place. If elected I will directly challenge the Labour administration to call on their Westminster and Holyrood colleagues to reintroduce the payment.

I have long campaigned for better public transport in West Lothian, from cheaper rail fares to more reliable bus services and if elected, I will make this one of my main aims.

I am proud of the work of Scottish Green MSPs who have more than doubled the Scottish Child Payment, introduced free bus travel for people under 22, and held the SNP to account over their cuts to nature and climate spending.

On November 14th, vote like our future depends on it. Vote Scottish Greens.
