Being elected as your MP in 2019 was a privilege and I have spent the last 4 and a half years focused on the issues that matter to you.

In my time so far I have helped constituents with more than 47,000 cases, visiting more than 600 local organisations along the way and campaigning on the issues that matter to you: from improving our infrastructure (from GP surgeries to roads), to re-opening Grove Station, to tackling anti-social behaviour, to supporting families to get the support they need for children with special educational needs.

I'm not a career politican. Before being elected in 2019, I had never been in politics before. I was born on a council estate, went to a school with a 20% GCSE pass rate and was the first person in my family to go to university.

The best part of the job is helping people when they have no-one else to turn to. This has included helping them get the health or education support they need; resolving issues with pensions and benefits; making sure people get their post, passports and driving licences; being there to secure furlough payments and business grants during the pandemic; and helping ensure local applications to host Ukrainian refugees were processed successfully.

I've enjoyed getting to know so many of you at my surgeries, at community events and at the various events I have put on myself, from my annual Climate Summit to my Pensioner’s Fair and Apprenticeship Fair. Didcot has been my home for the last 4 years but I love each part of the constituency and will be knocking on doors all over it every day between now and then - so I hope to meet many more of you that I haven't yet been able to.
