Statement to voters

I was elected as the MP for Rutherglen in the by-election in October 2023, with a 20% swing from the SNP to Labour. I am hugely proud of the communities that make up the Rutherglen constituency and excited about our potential and I hope to have the opportunity to continue to serve as the area's Member of Parliament. Prior to becoming an MP I was a secondary school teacher and led a charity for young people with complex needs. I am currently a trustee of three charities.
