Statement to voters

David is standing as an Independent Candidate for Rose Hill & Iffley in the City Council elections in 2024, and for Littlemore and Rose Hill in the 2025 County Council elections.

Full statement

David was educated at Peers School, leaving at the age of 16 to compete an Engineering apprenticeship at the local car factory. After completing his apprenticeship, he travelled to Japan where he was recruited by Bridgestone, a tyre company. David also completed a degree in Japanese language.

Having returned to England with his family, to complete a degree in educational studies at Oxford Brookes University, David now teaches Engineering at The Oxford Academy delivering successful results year on year.

While serving as a Parish Councillor in Littlemore, David successfully won significant grants for the purchase of play equipment for the village’s Oxford Road and Herschel Crescent recreation grounds.

As a City Councillor for Cowley, David introduced the first Student Summit to tackle climate change and led successful campaigns as Chair of the Housing Panel for improving both social and private housing in the area. He also fought against the proposed developments in Iffley.

Although, David has been an Independent councillor for Cowley for many years, in the 2024 elections he wants to serve the area where he lives, where he went to school and where he now works.

If elected, he will focus on removing the East Oxford LTN scheme and ANPR cameras, and will fight for a ‘Loss of Earnings’ compensation scheme for local businesses and individuals affected by the current scheme. David will also work tirelessly with the police to fight anti-social behaviour and crime in the area, and provide his support for, and promote, local businesses and sole traders by removing the unfair Parking Levy.
