Statement to voters

Bromley Labour is delighted to announce that local resident Charlotte Grievson has been selected as our candidate for the upcoming by-election in Shortlands & Park Langley ward, triggered by the resignation of Tory councillor Aisha Cuthbert.

Full statement

Charlotte is a dedicated local campaigner and working mother of two young children. She is immersed in her local community and has a passion for engaging its members to work together to improve their area, especially when it comes to the environment, and road safety around schools.

Charlotte is also very experienced in dealing with council services on behalf of family members with disabilities and mental illness. She understands the frustrations that can come with trying to access and navigate statutory services. She grew up in a small town in the North of England and, as a child, spent time in care. This has given her a strong sense of social justice and a solid belief in equality which informs all she does.

In recent years, having left a successful career in publishing, Charlotte has worked with an equalities charity advocating for marginalised and disadvantaged young people, including criminally exploited and gang-affiliated boys. She has a realistic and practical approach to solving community problems and clarity around her priorities and values.

The by-election will take place alongside the election for the Mayor of London and London Assembly members.
