Roberto Buono: A Fresh Voice for Thorpe – Meet Your Local Conservative Candidate.
Full statement
I am excited to introduce myself as your local conservative candidate, aspiring to represent our community in the upcoming Thorpe council elections.
Thorpe is more than just a place on the map; it’s our home. Having lived and worked in the local area for over 10 years, I've seen firsthand the challenges we face, from harmful development, the urgency of shoring up our flood defences, to the need for more visible policing to ensure our streets are safe and clean. The changes at the nearby railway crossings that have caused long delays are a significant concern that impacts us daily.
Furthermore, the increased traffic of HGVs on our main roads, the lack of maintenance on grass verges and bushes, and the parking issues have affected our quality of life.
Why Me? My journey into public service is driven by more than just a role. Raised on the values of hard work, integrity, and community support, I've always believed in the power of looking out for one another. Whether through supporting families and individuals with disabilities at White Lodge in Chertsey, embodying the spirit of giving as Father Christmas in Windsor, I am committed to our community's well-being. My work with the Royal Holloway University in supporting technology courses and my efforts to maintain clean streets are testaments to my belief in practical, hands-on involvement.
I'm not here to simply make promises; I'm here to commit to you, to work tirelessly and collaboratively to address our challenges and seize opportunities for improvement.
Your Voice Matters. I'll be visiting homes in Thorpe to listen, learn, and engage in meaningful conversations about our future. This campaign is about us - our needs, our concerns, and our community.
Let's Connect. I am always here to listen to your concerns, questions, or ideas. Whether it’s via email or through Facebook, your input is invaluable. Together, we can make a significant impact.
Thank you for considering this partnership as we strive for a brighter future for Thorpe. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and hear from you.
Warm regards, Roberto Buono
